Everyday we are coming across with various kind of scam or frauds. There were time when i was scammed many times by some people. I have been trying to find out ways to avoid being cheated again. So today i am going to share information about how could i prevent these frauds.
If you are reading this article then please continue reading. You may know that there are different kinds of online frauds. Here i will list down few of them. But first of all let me tell you where can you get these scammers?
Yes if you want to cheat someone, they would reach their hands on any platform. We live in a world full of technology. In this digital era, almost everything has the potential to be hacked. Today everyone wants to do online transaction. Nowadays we don't even pay for anything using cash, we use our credit cards or debit card. In case of mobile phones, we recharge our phone bills by paying via internet. Even banks transfer money from one account to another account. All these transactions require authentication. To authenticate yourself, you need to provide your username and password. If you forget your login details, then it's almost impossible for you to recover it.
Now here comes the problem, what happens if anyone knows your username and password? Yes, he/she can steal your money. Nowadays, we don't trust each other at all. Everyone loves to cheat others. They try to find loopholes in the system. They don't care about security. Most of the time, they don't even bother to change their password. They keep it same as previous years. That makes it easy for hackers. Hackers just wait for the right moment and hack your accounts.
So now you might be thinking there is nothing wrong with providing same password to every application. In fact, it is not true. In reality, there are two types of passwords. One is strong password and second is weak password. Strong password should have long alphanumeric sequence with special characters. Weak passwords are those which are simple and easy to guess. It could be something like 12345678. While generating and remembering strong passwords, you should take help of various websites. These websites generate random passwords for free. So make sure you select a strong password which is hard to guess. Don't give your personal information to anyone who asks you to provide it. Never disclose your bank credentials like pin number etc. Use separate and different machine to access your account. If possible, use two factor authentication.
Once again i am telling you don't share your banking credentials with anyone. If anybody requests your login credentials, ask him/her for his/her name and email id. Ask them to send you their ID proof (like driver license) and email. Then verify it by calling them. Remember never reveal your banking address, phone number etc. If you are asked to fill captcha code then make sure that you don't click on any button before entering it. If required, use proxy sites and browse the website anonymously. After verifying your identity, then only allow the person to log in. Keep logging in your accounts regularly. That way, you will be able to detect if somebody tries to hack your accounts.
Conclusion:-
As said earlier, we live in a world where everyone wants to cheat others. If you think that you won't fall victim to these frauds, then you are wrong.
